So much to talk about! Eddie turned two on October 12th, we've had Nana here for a visit last weekend and Beth, Josh, and the kids are here this weekend. We went trick-or-treating last Wednesday at a retirement center with Katie and Carter...what fun:). Then on Halloween we went trick-or-treating with (Big)Carter, Ella, and Sophia. Henry and Eddie love spending time with all the kids!!! Oh, on Friday we went to get pictures done, and Stacey, Katie and (little)Carter went too! Today, I took (Big)Carter, Henry, and Ella over to Jantzyn's to play for a couple hours. They had a ball! It was Jantzyn's birthday.
Enjoy the pictures...we sure had fun!
Henry needs some cowboy boots! Preferably brown or black. The cute pink boots belong to Jantzyn, but Henry loves to wear them! Daddy doesn't think that Henry needs to be wearing "cowboy" boots, but I disagree. (go figure)
Anyway, I thought that you all would enjoy the picture of Henry in the pink boots!
It's been a long time since I have posted anything...so sorry about that!
It was a very busy summer...yet fun! We spent most of June at home, and then July came...and went! We went to Tennessee the end of July, then on to Daytona Beach for a week, then back to Knoxville for another four days and then finally home on August 7th. It was a long vacation (almost too long) but it was fun! The morning we left for vacation, I found out I was pregnant. A week later the nausea set in and lasted for about 4 weeks. I never felt that sick with Henry or Eddie, so I was not expecting it! It knocked me out many days---I slept a lot! I am glad to be feeling better! I had my first appointment yesterday and he said that everything looked fine and the heartbeat was very strong. I will be 3 months in one week, so the first trimester is almost over. WooHoo!
I am posting some pictures from this summer. Enjoy!
We went to the Splash Park today at the Y. It is amazing how different Henry and Eddie approach the water. Henry, as you can see in the picture, stays relatively dry. Eddie, on the other hand, runs straight into the water as soon as he is through the door. He LOVES being in the water, whether it is the Splash Park or in the pool. He is our fish! Enjoy the pics!
The boys and I went to a few garage sales on Friday with Stacey, Katie and Carter. (oh, by the way, Eddie is saying "Stacey" whenever he sees her!!!) I told Henry before hand that he could pick out one thing to take home, and this car is what he chose! Isn't it lovely? I just hope that this is not a look into the future of the style of vehicle he will want when he turns sixteen! :) As of right now, it is just a cool, green car with doors that open and close!
I think kids go through stages differently and at different times. For instance, the terrible 2's for Henry did not start until he was three, and unfortunately, Eddie seems to be going through the same thing starting from 18 months of age. Therefore, they are going through it at the same time!!! They do handle and react to things completely different from one another, which I guess is a good thing.
The other day I took both boys to Sam's Club with me. As a normal part of a Sam's Club visit, they each got an Icee to drink. Well, you know how in frozen drinks you can get air pockets??? (you just have to stir it up to get rid of it) Well, Eddie got an air pocket in his and was very frustrated by it. He began screaming and lifted his Icee up and through it on the ground. Yes, it splattered all over. I was now one of "those" mothers who apparently could not control her kids in public. Eddie was screaming and crying because he no longer had and Icee and Henry did, and Henry was crying because he was overwhelmed by the whole thing (hmmm, wonder where he gets that?). I was so embarrassed! I know there where people looking at me and thinking to themselves, "can't she get her child under control???". Now, I know that I have good boys, but I can't help but want them to be good all the time, especially in public places. I also know that what drives me crazy about them is what I sometimes love most about them. I love that Henry is sensitive and emotional, and I love that Edison is feisty and still so lovable! It's crazy that they come from the same gene pool, because they are so different in personality. God knew what He was doing when He gave us our boys, they are uniquely special in every way!
Well, I know that I haven't posted in a long time. I apologize for that.
I have been overwhelmed with emotion lately. I miss my family and wish we could all spend more time together, but I feel that I have everything to be grateful for. I think (I know) that it is God telling me to be content and at peace with the life he has given me. I have a wonderful husband and two happy, healthy kids. I have Stacey here for me whenever I need her (thank you Stace) and a great church in which I am involved. Why, when you have everything you need right in front of you, do you long for more? I guess that is just part of how the world works today, but that is not at all how God intended it. He wants us to take refuge in Him, to seek Him in good times and in bad, and to be content in all parts of our lives! Part of why I am feeling all this is because I found a Blog that I can't stop reading. It is audreycaroline.blogspot.com. Check it out!!!!! If you ever think that you are in the midst of a trial, there is always someone out there who may be going through the darkest part of their life, and it makes you realize just how small your "trial" is. I encourage everyone to go to this Blog Page and read about how much the Smith family praises God even in the rain, and after, hug your loved ones and thank God for everyday you have with them.
After telling Henry to stay out of the mud puddle, I turn around to see Eddie standing in it. I did not react, I just simply grabbed my camera and took shot after shot. How could I not look at the moment as one I would want to remember and cherish? How could I also tell Henry that he could not play in the mud when Eddie was already in it? I couldn't!!! They had so much fun! This is one of those times that, as a tired mommy, I could have just been really upset with the boys and instantly took them away from the mud puddle, but I stopped and thought for a second about what they must be thinking. And I am so glad I did because it was just one of those "picture perfect" moments! Enjoy!
Henry and Jantzyn LOVE playing together!!! They get along so well, not fighting much at all! She is the his best friend, as he has said himself before! I just love having her here for him...he misses her on the weekends and looks forward to going to church (they are in the same Sunday school class). This summer will be tough on him without her here, but hopefully we will keep busy enough that he will not notice too much!
Henry will only wear a hat when the other kids around him are wearing one. Eddie, on the other hand, loves to play with hats! Aren't they just the cutest boys on the block??? Well, I think so!
Eddie was running a pretty high fever yesterday and today. He was acting okay, just a little tired. I hope it will be gone soon. Henry is doing well...he just loves to have Jantzyn and Nolan here to play with everyday. It is getting a little warmer everyday, I just hope it continues to be on the rise.
Hope everyone is having a good week! Take Care!
Well, Eddie had a fall today and is a little beat up. He was running down the driveway and the small slope caught up with him. He went face first into the pavement. He busted open his upper lip and scraped up his chin and his nose (a little). Five minutes later, you would have never known he hurt himself. He was running up and down the sidewalk, playing and having fun with the kids. He is a tough little guy---not too much will phase him!
Well, we just got back on Sunday afternoon, after spending the week in Tennessee at Nana's and Papa's. We enjoyed ourselves, had nice weather for part of the week. Derek and Josh were out quite a bit looking at Jeeps. They seemed to be having fun, so much that Derek decided to bring home a reminder of Spring Break '08. He bought a Jeep Wrangler! He looks really good driving it!!! I will post a picture of Derek and his Jeep soon!
The boys had so much fun with Carter and Ella last week. They played so hard, went to bed too late, and were up much too early everyday! But---they had fun!!! And of course, they got to spend time with a Nana and Papa!
Aunt Katie was nice enough to read a story to Henry and Eddie. As you can see they both loved it.
Well, it has been very busy here in the Burgette house! Katie, Celina, Maranda, and Georgia all came on Sunday to stay for the week. So, can you imagine my home during the day...with Katie's three, my two, and the four that I babysit??? One word---LOUD!!! It's only nine kids, right? YEAH!
The boys have had runny noses and grumpy-bugs since Saturday. They are getting a little better...it just needs to be gone before we head to Tennessee at the end of the month. It has been cold then warm, snowing then raining. I'm sure that the weather has not helped the "sick" situation.
I will post a picture soon of all the kids together...if I can get them all together! Take Care!
Every other night in our house, around 7pm, you will hear me chanting to the boys, "time to take a bath". I say it over and over until we are up the stairs and getting the clothes off! Both of the boys know what time it is when I start chanting that phrase. It has been our bath time motto ever since Henry was a baby. I love to see how excited Eddie gets as soon as I start saying it. Both boys love bathtime, but they love bathtime in different ways. Henry is content playing with his animals and just hanging out...Eddie, on the other hand, is ALL over the tub. He is constantly splashing and getting water all over EVERYTHING!
Henry is almost always in a happy, goofy mood! He is always singing and dancing and just being silly! During pajama time, he seems to always stop while undressing, with the shirt stuck halfway on his head. He thinks it is so funny! He has fun doing the simple things in life, I guess we should all remember how much joy can be brought to us just by the simple things in each of our lives.
Six passengers flew in an airplane to Canada. On their way, the plane had problems and crashed on the border of Canada and Michigan. Five of the six passengers died. Where should they bury the survivors?

Eddie is slow to learn that actions have consequences. The action---trying to shove a basket on your head! He did this three different times, and each time it had the same consequence--the basket would get stuck on his head because of the handle. Like I said, he is slow to learn the consequence of his action, or he is just stubborn. Either way, I am in for a long ride with this little boy! Long ride or not, I love him with all my heart and will learn myself how to deal with his actions and consequences! He has such an awesome spirit--so fun, so curious, and so loving. He is our Eddie!
This is what Henry's face looks like after eating an Oreo cookie! He says it's his turkey beard, just like the turkey beard his Daddy has from time to time-only Derek's is not from an Oreo cookie!
If it takes 20 minutes to boil one egg, how long does it take to boil three eggs?
I wanted to pull out a couple pictures from Christmas because Henry has been talking quite a bit about Ella and Carter and Nana and Papa. He asked to go to Nana and Papa's today...he doesn't yet understand just how long a drive it is! Henry loves his time with Ella, you can see it in the pictures! They have so much fun together! If only they lived near one another:)
